Danay Nápoles
Danay Nápoles (Havana, 1988) is a visual artist. Her practice centers on photographic creation, through which she investigates vanishing points and the expansions of contemporary photography.
With a strong interest in portraiture, she explores new possibilities of the face and the “facialized,” insisting on its potential as a space for symbolic construction.
In parallel, she develops a sustained body of work around architecture(s), understood both as a physical structure and as a metaphor. In this sense, her work also turns toward the observation of what we call “nature,” approached from the intimate and self-referential to the collective.
She lives and works between Havana and Madrid. She holds studies in Computer Engineering and audiovisual media.
Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Spain, Brazil, and Italy, among other countries, and is part of collections in Panama, the United States, Cuba, and Brazil.
